Welcome to my world of inspiration and creativity!
Irina Nuzhdina (Russia, 1982) is an abstract expressionist artist, decorator, and designer, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Russian Abstractionists.
Nuzhdina's passion for art emerged during her childhood while attending art school, but it truly flourished when she worked as an interior designer, where art became an integral part of her projects. At first, juggling interior design and painting, Nuzhdina transitioned to professional painting entirely in 2015.
Nuzhdina developed her style of "Romantic Expressionism" by drawing inspiration from the great masters: the ethereal landscapes and experimental approach of J.M.W. Turner, the dynamic and energetic works of Gerhard Richter, the eccentricity and creative audacity of Salvador Dali, and the mesmerizing use of colors by Claude Monet.
Some notable achievements in Nuzhdina's career include winning an abstract art competition in the category of "Abstract Expressionism" at Russian Art Week in Moscow (2017); participating in the Venice Architectural Biennale (2018); collaborating on the creation of designer furniture (2017-2019); participating in the Russian Art Week in Copenhagen organized by the Eurasian Art Union and the World Fund of Arts (2019), and collaborating with renowned galleries in Russia and the USA, including IZO Art Gallery (Moscow), Weiss Gallery (Moscow), and Touchon Gallery (Los Angeles).
In the current phase of her career, Nuzhdina partners with furniture and interior designers, decorators, galleries, and showrooms, creating artwork for private clients and commercial projects. Her works can be found in private collections in Russia, the USA, Italy, and Spain.
In her artistic practice, Nuzhdina often explores large formats, employing mixed techniques and textures to create abstract, imaginative artworks inspired by nature. Her works are balanced and light, and bring harmony and fresh energy to a variety of spaces - both commercial and residential.
Irina Nuzhdina is continuously working on new series of artworks, participating in competitions, collaborations, as well as online and offline group and solo exhibitions, in Russia and abroad.
